Some of our guests have been coming for 30 years. And still they discover new places.

And then, suddenly, we get a few tips about cycling routes, running possibilities. Or someone sends us beautiful photos of the countryside.

Villages and Cities

The Provence. An ancient region, with a lot of history, many picturesque villages. Too much to mention here. You can come here for years and discover new things every time. Every day there is a market somewhere, an overview is on the information board.

The most important villages and towns for our guests.

Reillanne. The village of Reillanne is the “mother village” of Le Vallon des Oiseaux. From the campsite you can walk to it in about 45 minutes, by car 10 minutes. A rustic village square, terraces with a café au lait, a fountain. This is the Provence!
Every Sunday morning a small market.

Cereste. The village of Cereste is about 5 kilometres from Le Vallon des Oiseaux. The village has well-preserved walls, and a stroll through the narrow streets is well worth the hour.
On the way to the village you can visit the Prieuré de Carluc: the ruins of a medieval priory. The history goes back to the year 1011.

Apt. Busy Apt has been the world’s largest producer of candied fruit for 600 years. Especially worth seeing is the 11-th century former cathedral Sainte-Anne with the chapel of the same name from 1660.
Every Saturday morning a large market.

Manosque. About 20 kilometres from the Vallon, you will find Manosque. In the town centre, which is surrounded by wide boulevards, you can admire typical Provençal houses. Enjoy the beautiful views of the Luberon on the way.
There is a large market every Saturday morning.

Forcalquier. In the town of Forcalquier the old large medieval houses and the former cathedral Notre-Dame (partly Romanesque, partly Gothic, 13th century) still remind us of the Roman days and the glorious Middle Ages. Don’t forget the remains of the fortifications.
Market every Monday morning.

Active

Hiking. We regularly organise clothed hikes outside the grounds for both experienced and inexperienced hikers. You can walk naked on the entire grounds. More information in the reception.

Cycling. For the less trained cyclists, with a traditional bike, there are a limited number of cycling routes available in the area. If you have an electric bike or racing bike with you, the possibilities are endless. Many cyclists go crazy: there is a lot of climbing to do. And why not, alone or with a group, climb the Mont Ventoux? Or cycle as training from Cereste to Vitrolles-en-Luberon?
Of course, you can also cycle the signposted route “Autour du Luberon au Vélo” partially or completely.
Electric bikes can be hired in Manosque and Forcalquier.

Running. Lovely. If it is not too warm yet, put on your running shoes and go for a nice run. Afterwards take a shower and relax in the swimming pool.

Swimming. The swimming pool is our biggest attraction. We often see guests swimming early in the morning.

Fitness. There are a number of fitness machines available, in the shade

The Provence….

Purple-blue lavender fields with their characteristic scent. The piercing sound of crickets. Rolling vineyards. The springs of Fontaine de Vaucluse. Rousillon and Colorado de Rustrel with the bright red, orange and yellow rocks. The Gorges du Verdon. Poppies. The caves of Gordes. The Parc Naturel Régional du Luberon.
