Mailing Winter 2024-2025

Dear guests, dear friends,
It’s December again, another year has passed. Every year we send out a Winter mailing, including this year. As you may have noticed, we did not send the spring mailing in May. Our apologies for this. The start of the season caused a lot of extra work. And as a result, we did not have enough time to prepare and send the mailing.
The year 2024
During winter 2023/2024 and spring 2024, we continued to work on our development plan for the campsite. Again, a lot of work has been done. Not all of it is visible to guests.
Some of the things we have been working on:
- The roof and ceiling of our first sanitary building have been completed. This caused more work than we expected when we planned this.
- We have also made some very important improvements on the electricity network. This gives us more reliability in terms of power supply. Unfortunately, we cannot increase the amperage of each camping pitch, it remains 4 amps.
- The pumping system of the water network has been automated to prevent water wastage.
- Rainwater tanks have been installed to collect rainwater and use it for watering the plants.
- We have reconstructed the path through the pine forest with water stops across so that heavy rains no longer destroy the path.
- The Wi-Fi network at the campsite itself is still provided by Osmosis. They have made improvements to the access and connection with it.
- The little extra that was not necessarily planned for the 2024 season is a minor refresh of upper sanitary building. The washbasins and sinks have been revamped; a touch of modernity never harms.
The early and late 2024 season were very surprising. The campsite was completely full on certain days. High season July/August, however, was more calm.
We had the pleasure of welcoming many families with young children who were able to enjoy our new playground facilities. A nice reward for our efforts! We expect more and more families with children to come to the Vallon over the next few years.
Weather. We have had generally good weather. June was great, with a few rain showers every week. As a result, nature on the campsite remained green until mid-July.
September was a bit colder than we were used to. Fortunately, this made the atmosphere at the campsite perhaps even better than other years.
Project Winter 2025
Our plans for this winter include the following:
- We are planning to renovate the interior of a few MHs: Ocre 2 and 3 and Soleil 7. The choice for us was: renovate or buy new. We chose renovation from an ecological and recycling point of view.
- We need to finish work on the water treatment plant and the electricity building. These are obligations dictated by the authorities.
Future projects
We want to finish the interior of the lower sanitary block. This is going to cost a lot of money, there is a lot of overdue maintenance, so we will have to postpone this for a while. Fortunately, hot water supply through the heat pump is working perfectly for two seasons already.
We would also like to renew some mobile homes, but like everywhere else, all prices have been rising. That is also a major investment.
The ‘chemical toilet’ will also be renewed. For that to happen, we need to replace the drain pipes under the road. That is the hidden part of the work and is more complex than you could imagine.
Step by step, we want to improve the things our father installed so that we can offer you the best experience.
Change of office
Since February 2024, our booking office has been based here in France. Camille, my sister-in-law, is in charge of it now. She has taken over from Alice and Nico. I personally think she is doing very well. She had to learn in a short while what Nico and Alice had been doing for more than 20 years. I am very happy to work together with her. Of course, Nico and Alice are still always there for us. They are friends of the family, every time we have questions, need advice, or need to change something in terms of automation, they are always willing to help and assist us.
General Terms and Conditions
We review our General Terms and Conditions every year. They need to be adapted to changes in the company and society. Unfortunately, due to some minor problems with customers, we have had to change the way we work in the future. We decided to make a few minor changes regarding bookings. The payment terms for rentals have been changed. For rentals only, the full amount must be transferred within 4 weeks of sending the confirmation. It is becoming increasingly important to take out cancellation/travel insurance.
Final note
From our side, we continue to make Le Vallon more and more beautiful and cozy, in order to offer you the holiday you have always dreamed of. Simplicity and love for nature are on top of our list – because for us, the most important thing is to be simple and happy!
The Pasma family has grown in December. We are happy to introduce you to Romain and Camille’s new baby next year. Congratulations, we wish them lots of happiness! And I am very happy to be an auntie again!

I would like to add a personal word of thanks to a few people who are very close to me and have been there every season for years to assist me, take care of me and help me.
- Marianne, our aunt on my father’s side, who is here for 4 months every year. She does her absolute best every season, offloading me, welcoming the new people, spending a lot of time explaining to them how everything works and making sure the beautiful terrace is always in bloom. The perfect example of multitasking. In a nutshell THANK YOU.
- I would also like to thank Marnix and Roos, who have been at by my side for 20 years. They have followed every phase of Le Vallon’s development, and they still visit us a few times a year to give me a hand.
- Nico and Alice, who were retiring from their work for Le Vallon this year, after managing reservations and the website, among other things, for more than 20 years. I know it wasn’t easy even for them to retire sometimes. We are learning step by step every day, the transfer is running flawlessly.

Message from the office
This first year in charge of the booking office has been very intensive and very rewarding. We would like to thank Alice and Nico for passing on their knowledge and experience. But also for their support and availability throughout the year.
I (Camille) really enjoyed meeting so many of you this summer in Le Vallon.
As Amanda also wrote: we review our terms and conditions every year. They need to be adapted to changes in the company and in society. Unfortunately, due to some minor problems with customers, we have had to change the way we do business. Therefore, this year we decided to make some changes to the booking process. The payment terms for rentals have changed. Please read the modified terms carefully when you make your next booking.

Booking
If you want a specific camping pitch or rental accommodation, we recommend making a reservation. In case of a reservation, you have to accept the Terms and Conditions. Thank you for taking the time to read them (I promise they are not too long and not written as small print).
Rental accommodation:
- 100% of the amount must be paid no later than 4 weeks after the confirmation date.
Camping pitch:
- 50% of the amount must be paid no later than 4 weeks after the confirmation date.
- 50% of the amount must be paid 4 weeks before the date of arrival at the campsite.
Confirmations
We have asked everyone who has taken an option for 2025 to confirm that it has not been changed. Didn’t receive an email about this? Send us an email to remind us! We will start sending confirmations around 15 January
Insurance
We continue to insist that you take out cancellation/travel insurance before you make your final booking with us. In the General Terms and Conditions, we are very clear about payment terms. Unfortunately, we have to become increasingly strict and consistent on this point.
Prices
This year, as we have already announced, we have had to increase prices slightly. Details can be found on the website.
Photos
We are always curious to see your photos of the campsite. Or of the surroundings. Don’t hesitate to send them to us!
Reviews
This year again, we have had many positive reviews on Google. What stops you from posting a nice review yourself?
Musical instruments
We regularly hear camping guests playing instruments. It would be great if they could share these moments together on our terrace over a drink.
